Jerry Archer's responsibilities include securing and protecting all of Sallie Mae's systems and offerings, as well as leading security initiatives across the company. As CSO of Sallie Mae, Archer completely rebuilt the company’s security program by blending physical, logical and cyber security ultimately increasing productivity 3X while reducing cost 40%. Prior to Sallie Mae, Archer was the CISO at Intuit where he managed information security for the infrastructure, applications and software products of the company, including the $20M remediation of Intuit systems for PCI-DSS merchant, processor and application compliance. Previously, he was managing director at Global Competitive Strategies, SVP for Global Interoperability at Visa International, and SVP of information security and technical risk at Fidelity Brokerage. For his work in architecting and implementing Intelink, the first broad-based Information Sharing Environment (ISE) in the U.S. Intelligence Community, Archer earned the National Performance Review Hammer Award, a Distinguished Service Award from the CIA and a Meritorious Unit Citation from the National Security Agency.
