Philippe CourtotJames Beeson is the Chief Information Security Officer for GE Capital - Commercial. Beeson joined General Electric in 1997 as Technical Services Manager for GE Capital – Vendor Financial Services, responsible for the technology infrastructure. In 2000, he took on the task of building an information security program within the Mid-Market Finance business. In 2001, with the restructuring of GE Financial Services to focus on consumer and commercial services, Beeson assumed the role of Chief Information Security Officer for GE Commercial Finance. With this move, the scope of his responsibilities grew ten-fold. Over the past 10 years, Beeson has grown and expanded the information security program to keep in step with the evolvingGeneral Electric business model. He is now responsible for Information Security and Data Protection globally at GE Capital – Commercial.

Beeson is actively involved in the Information Systems Security Association and Information Systems Audit and Control Association, which work to drive standards, improvements, and networking in security and risk management globally. He also participates in InfraGard to improve communications between the public and private sectors related to protecting our critical infrastructure. Beeson was Co-Chair of the CISO Executive Summit in Dallas in 2010, participates as Keynote Speaker at SecureWorld events nationwide, as well as other conferences, and is frequently a guest speaker for radio and video broadcasts. Beeson also works closely with the SINET (Security Innovation Network) to promote public and private sector collaboration and increase the awareness of innovative emerging companies.

He has an MBA from Southern Methodist University with a Finance emphasis and a BBA with a major in Management andLeadership. He is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and also Six Sigma Quality certified.
