Tim has over 25 years experience in Information Security Leadership. At SunTrust, he is responsible for Information Security Operations, Business Resumption, Disaster Recovery, Corporate Incident Response, and Records and Information Management. Tim has consolidated these key risk functions for the protection, preservation, and availability of critical information and to address the full life cycle of information and records of the company. Tim is responsible for program policy, strategy and direction.

Prior to his current role, Tim was First Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer, at Peoples United Bank in Bridgeport Connecticut. He was the executive charged with program management and protection of company information assets. Tim was recognized for leadership in the industry by receiving the 2007 Digital ID World Industry Award. This distinguishes Tim as the only repeat recipient of this prestigious award. Tim is also distinguished in winning the 2009 Information Security Executive of the Year, Northeast People’s Choice Award, which made him the only recipient to win this award in two regions.

Before People’s, Tim served as SunTrust Bank’s Group Vice President, Access Control and Support Services. He was responsible for life cycle identity management, the Technology Risk PMO, and security application support. Among his many accomplishments was implementing one of the first successful Identity Management Lifecycle solutions at a large company. His process for role based access control was documented in a Gartner Case Study. He also led his team to win the 2006 Digital ID World Industry Award. Tim was a finalist for the 2006 Information Security Executive of the Year and the winner of the Southeast People’s Choice Award.

Before SunTrust Bank, Tim was a military professional serving in leadership positions throughout his 23 year career. In his final assignment, Tim was the program manager for a risk management function at a US Air Forces Major Command Headquarters.
