Dan is currently responsible for Information Security and Governance at Husky Energy where he specializes in issues of leadership, governance (IS, SOX and PCI-DSS), policy, business assurance (BCP, TRP and DRP) and integrated security strategies involving traditional IT and Industrial Control Systems. Experienced in information and electronic warfare, physical and technical security, information and knowledge management, threat risk assessments, intrusion detection, incident handling, forensic and defense-in-depth techniques, Dan is regarded as a subject matter expert with a unique, forward-looking perspective that has led to invitations to address industry at large and such groups as the Conference Board of Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Canadian Forces Information Systems Security Officer’s Symposium, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Technical Crime Symposium, Alberta Technical Crime Unit Workshop, Alberta Government and part of the University of Calgary’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Dan was the founder and past President of the Western Canadian Chapter - High Tech Crimes Investigation Association, a founding member of the Tri-Lateral Security Conferences and president emeritus of the Calgary Security Professionals Information Exchange. He currently sits on the Board for Online Safety Week, is a member of the CISO Summit (Vancouver) Governance Body and acts as an Advisory Board member for SAIT's ICT Program and the University of Calgary's Institute for Privacy, Security and Information Assurance (formally the Centre for Information Security and Cryptography). |
