Mark Leary possesses over 30 years of experience in security management and technical intelligence operations holding several positions of responsibility in information assurance and information systems security.  Mark currently performs as TASC’s Chief Information Security Officer for information security services for a Professional Services firm providing for national security solutions to government and commercial customers. He provides day-to-day leadership, management and oversight of the information security services that provide TASC a full range of operational resiliency capabilities in the face of the increasing Cyber threats.

Prior to joining TASC, Mark performed as Director & Deputy CISO for Northrop Grumman Corporation where he was responsible for day-to-day internal security service delivery to a Fortune 100 company with revenues of over $33 Billion.  Prior to Northrop Grumman, Mark retired after 22 years in U.S. Army Military Intelligence and Special Operations Forces career fields culminating in supporting the establishment of the U.S. Army Reserve Information Operations capability.

Mark is board certified in both physical and information security domains; Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, and Certified Protection Professional, as well as certified by several Government agencies on his information assurance skills. He is also board certified as Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute. Mark’s academic credentials include four graduate degrees with a concentration in IT, security and business management, culminating in the award of  Doctor of Management from University of Maryland.

Mark has published over a dozen technical articles in recognized information security periodicals and professional journals such as Security Management, Corporate Security, Security Technology & Design, and others. He has served on the Editorial Advisory Board for "CyberSecurity Advisor" and “E-Commerce;” two monthly Aspen Publishing Company magazines. Mark is also currently serving as an adjunct Professor at University of Maryland teaching cybersecurity subjects.
