Fernando Martinez is the former Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida. One of the largest public health systems in the country, Jackson Health System consists of 6 hospitals, 10 primary care centers, 17 school-based clinics and a variety of other community health organizations. A 32 year veteran of the Health Care Industry, Mr. Martinez has extensive administrative healthcare experience ranging from patient access to revenue cycle to Health Information Management. For the last 12 years Mr. Martinez has held executive IT positions at a variety of prominent healthcare organizations.
A passionate educator, Mr. Martinez holds adjunct faculty appointments at various South Florida Higher Education Institutions, his focus is graduate course-work in Hospital Administration and healthcare focused Executive MBA programs. Mr. Martinez holds numerous professional certifications and is a recognized expert in IT security. Mr. Martinez earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Barry University, a Master of Science at Nova Southeastern University and is a Doctoral candidate (ABD) in Educational Leadership at Keiser University in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
