Damian is the Vice President of Global Information Security at BD, a leading global medical technology company that develops, manufactures, and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents.

Damian joined BD in 2004 as the Director of BD’s Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team where he oversaw the global transformation and standardization of BD’s global network, server, desktop and storage infrastructures. In 2007, Damian accepted the position of Director, Global Information Security where he leveraged his engineering and management skills to advance, shape and expand BD’s Information Security program to manage the rapid evolution of security compliance requirements, business demands and changing threat landscape. Most recently, Damian has been working to increase security awareness at the board level and further strengthen BD’s capabilities by aligning the security organization, policies and controls with ISO and NIST standards while also supporting key business initiatives such as BD’s SAP ECC 6.0, e-HR and Global payroll implementations as well as the establishment of off shore production support and off shore R&D development. Damian is known for using his technical background to cut through the hype as well as his pragmatic approach to balancing security with business enablement.

Prior to joining BD, Damian spent 16 years in publishing at Time Inc. and Primedia where he held engineering and management positions in support of prepress, data center and imaging operations as well as the management of  global networks and hosting infrastructures.

Damian is a Six Sigma black belt candidate with a physics and electrical engineering background and holds a BS in Printing Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Damian also holds a CISSP certification.
