ISE® of the decade award
Founded in 2012 to celebrate the TENth Anniversary of the ISE® Programs, the Information Security Executive® of the Decade Award will be conferred once a decade to recognize and honor the ultimate Winners Circle of Information Security Executives. The award will debut at the ISE® Southeast Executive Forum and will be presented throughout 2012 during the ISE® Awards Gala at each regional ISE® Executive Forum, including the ISE® North America Leadership Summit. This prestigious award will be bestowed to a highly exceptional information security executive within each region who has achieved distinction in advancing the security industry, expanding the role of security within business and establishing a leadership ecosystem and future influencer community that connects today’s and tomorrow’s security leaders. The second ISE® of the Decade competition will be held in 2022 to mark the 20th Anniversary of the ISE® Programs.
AWARD CRITERIA
Qualifying candidates are invited to compete for the award and must confirm their intent to complete the nomination requirements. Award nominees:
- Must hold a title of CSO, CISO or leadership equivalent for information security for a minimum of three contiguous years. The three-year period may include one or more organizations.
- Must have primary responsibility for the organization’s risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, governance, privacy and/or information/network security performance.
- Must have direct-report employees and budget responsibility.
- Must have been an ISE® Executive of the Year or ISE® People’s Choice award winner in any previous ISE® Award program (Southeast, Central, West, Northeast or North America).
- CANNOT be a contractor or employed by an information security vendor or services provider.
- Must reside in and be employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in the region of nomination.
ISE NOMINEE EVALUATION PROCESS
The nomination form serves as the means by which all nominees are evaluated and must be completed in its entirety to be considered by the ISE Judges, an independent body comprised of the ISE® Luminary Leadership Award recipients. Incomplete applications are ineligible and will not be forwarded to the Judges. The Judges will make the final decision on whether a nominee is qualified to participate in the ISE® of the Decade Award Program.
The Judges will evaluate each nominee in terms of their industry influence and impact, leadership ecosystem and future-influencer community, personal brand and staying power within the information security industry. Nominees are encouraged to include any information about career accomplishments that they would like the judges to consider.
The Judges will weigh the following in determining the winner:
- Industry Influence and Impact
- Industry Influence: Ability of the nominee to influence and advance the security industry as a whole by pioneering new initiatives, participating in industry events, contributing to the security body of knowledge, forging new alliances or strategic partnerships, establishing open dialogues in the spirit of cooperation and co-opetition, and influencing the development of relevant and impactful security solutions or services.
- Leadership: Ability to execute security strategy while bringing business value, influence his/her organization and expand the influence security has within business.
- Leadership Ecosystem and Future Influencer
Ability of the nominee to serve as a role model, mentor security practitioners and raise up the next generation of security leaders. Ability to establish a Leadership Ecosystem and Future Influencer community that connects today’s and tomorrow’s security leaders.
- Personal Brand and Staying Power
The degree to which the nominee has established a personal brand and exhibits an enduring staying power within the industry. Nominee’s insight and ideas for the future and how it will affect security professionals over the next few years and beyond.
