about the ISE® awards
For a decade, the Information Security Executive (ISE®) of the Year Awards has become the industry’s most prestigious and anticipated awards for security executives and their project teams. Winners have included executives and project teams from such leading organizations such as Nike, The Walt Disney Company, The U.S. Department of Defense, Unum, Texas Instruments, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Equifax, The Home Depot, PayPal, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Motorola.
Coupled with a one or two day executive summit, The ISE® Executive Forum and Awards are held across the country in major cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Washington DC, San Francisco and New York City. Since 2003, the ISE® Awards Program Series have reached over 7,000 executives across a broad range of industries and have been a major influence in executives’ careers, knowledge sharing, and the development of peer-to-peer relationships.

Award Categories
The Information Security Executive® of the Year Award honors exemplary achievement and excellence in the management of enterprise-wide Internet and network security over the last twelve months. This most sought-after accolade is presented to a chief security officer or executive in an equivalent position who has made the greatest positive impact on his/her organization through risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and information security. The nominees' submissions are evaluated on breadth of responsibilities, leadership, innovation, technology partnerships and vision.
The Information Security Project of the Year Award focuses on information security projects completed in the past 12-18 months. These projects and their teams are recognized for having a significant impact to an organization's risk management or information security posture. This award brings to light the team behind the work. The project submissions are evaluated on their scope, goals, execution, and results.
About the Nominees
As the premier forum for information security professionals, the ISE® Award Program draws an impressive nominee base from commercial, government and academic institutions across the nation to attend both the awards and the one and two day business summits. These exemplary leaders have made important contributions to their organizations and to the IT industry.
Over 70% of the nominees on both a regional and national basis represent the commercial sector and Fortune 1000 companies in industries including financial services, insurance, utilities, entertainment, healthcare, retail, travel and transportation, automotive, logistics, chemical and manufacturing. 25% of the remaining nominees represent the government sector and 5% represent the academic sector.
In addition, nearly two-thirds of the nominees have titles of Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Information Officer, Senior Vice-President, Vice-President or equivalent. The remaining one-third of the nominees typically have titles of director level or equivalent.
Vendors that provide information security products or services are not eligible to participate as a nominee.
About the Judges
The Judges are information security executives that typically have been a winner or finalists from one of the regional or national ISE® Award programs. These executives are industry leaders and experts with diverse backgrounds and represent wide cross section of industries. |
